The information on this site
The guidance on these pages is general information about plumbing and septic systems. It is written to help you understand what might be happening and what questions to ask. It is not a diagnosis of your specific situation and it is not a substitute for having somebody qualified look at the system in front of them.
Plumbing systems vary enormously between properties, and symptoms that look identical can have very different causes. Do not rely on anything here as the sole basis for a decision about your property.
Safety
Some of what we describe involves water under pressure, gas, electricity and contaminated waste. If you are not confident doing something, do not do it. Where a page says to leave the building and call the gas utility, that advice is there for a reason.
Pricing and quotes
No price, figure or range on this website is an offer or a quotation. Costs depend on what we find when we inspect the system. Any quote we give becomes binding only when provided in writing for your specific job, and it is subject to the terms set out in that document.
Where we mention that financing is available, availability and terms depend on the job and on your circumstances, and are subject to approval by the finance provider.
Statistics and third party sources
Where we cite figures from external organizations we name the source and link to it where the page allows. Those figures belong to their publishers, may be updated or withdrawn, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of material published by others. Links to third party sites are provided for reference and do not imply endorsement.
